The Prophecies of Jesus Christ Witnessing Plan

By YBible

This is the step by step guide for using the Old Testament prophecies of Jesus Christ to share the gospel.

You will say to them all the text bellow that starts with “Say”. Minus the word say.

The opening question:

Say: Have you ever heard the prophecies of Jesus Christ before?

(They respond.)

Say: I can quickly show you a few of them from the Bible.

(They respond.)

Say: These were written in the Old Testament, hundreds sometimes over a thousand years before Jesus was born.

Say: You’ve heard Jesus was born of a virgin right?

(They respond.)

Say: Here is the virgin birth prophecy 700 years before He was born.

Isaiah 7:14 - Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

(Immanuel means "God with us” - Matthew 1:23)

Say: Do you believe Jesus performed miracles?

(They respond.)

Say: Here’s a prophecy He would do them.

Isaiah 35:5-6

5  Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.

6  Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert.

Say: Did you know that all the events of His death were also foretold?

(They respond.)

Say: Here are the prophecies that He would be crucified.

Zechariah 12:10  "And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn."

And

Psalms 22:16  “For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.”

Note: This never happened to the author of the verse David. Crucifixion wasn’t invented yet.

Say: Psalms 22:1 tells His words on the cross.

“My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?”

Say: Isaiah Chapter 53 has the most striking prophecies of Jesus Christ. Verses 5-6 foretold Jesus would be a sacrifice for our sins.

5  But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

6  All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Say: Do you believe He died for your sins?

(They respond.)

Say: Think about it this way, if a judge let a murderer go free the judge would be guilty. God is perfect, holy and sinless. He must judge us for our sins. Jesus paid the price for us, He died in our place. He also rose again.

Say: The Bible even foretold His resurrection from the dead.

Psalms 16:10  “For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.”

And

Psalms 68:18  "Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive: thou hast received gifts for men; yea, for the rebellious also, that the LORD God might dwell among them.”

Say: Do you believe Jesus rose again?

(They respond.)

Say: Let me quickly show you some key verses in the New Testament of the Bible.

Say: John 3:16 gives us the big picture.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Say: Romans 3:23 says we all fall short of God's standard.

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”

Say: Romans 6:23 says “For the wages of sin is death…”

Most of us work for wages. But our wages for our sins is death. The second half of the verse says “…but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Eternal life is a gift from God, not something we can earn. You cannot save yourself.

Say: Romans 10:9 tells us how to call on the Lord to be saved, notice we must believe from our heart, it has to be for real.

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”

Say: Romans 10:13 is a promise from God that anyone, anywhere can be saved.

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Say: Are you willing to be saved right now?

(They respond.)

If they are ready, lead them in a salvation prayer. Before you lead them in prayer explain that just repeating these words doesn’t save them, it must be a genuine faith from their heart.

Say: I will lead you in prayer, but it’s not saying these words that saves you, it’s believing on Jesus Christ from your heart.

Say: Repeat after me. Dear God I admit I have sinned against you and deserve your judgment (They repeat). I don’t want to sin against you ever again (They repeat). I believe Jesus died for my sins and I believe He also rose again (They repeat). I trust in Jesus alone to save me (They repeat).

Say: If you sincerely meant that prayer God has forgiven you and saved you. When God looks at you now He sees the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

Say: The next most important thing to do is to read Jesus’ words for yourself in the Bible. Get your Bible or download a Bible app on your phone and read either the first book of the New Testament Matthew or the fourth book John is a good place to start also.
