all thy name. - Psalms 138:2 KJV

Where these prophecies added to the Bible?
Jews & Christians independently kept the Old Testament (Tanakh) and though most Jews rejected Jesus their text is the same today as protestant Christians, besides a different order of the books. Its worth noting that while most Jews rejected Christ, so have most Christians...
Jesus said: “Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” - Matthew 7:22-23

Typology
Typology is a form of prophecy in the Bible, these are events, people or objects that God used to foreshadow the future. Listed bellow are just a few of the many types of Jesus Christ in the Old Testament.
The sacrifice of Isaac and passover lamb — As Abrahams faith is tested and he is set to sacrifice his son God stops him for “God will provide himself a lamb” - Gen. 22:8. Then in Egypt as the exodus draws nigh the Jews where instructed by God to paint their door frames with the blood of a spotless lamb, the wrath of God would not enter these homes(Ex. 12) Jesus is the Lamb of God sacrificed in our place and the exception to Gods wrath for all those found in Him(Jn. 1:29)
The Rock in the wilderness — Struck so water flows; “that Rock was Christ” (1 Corinthians 10:4). This is why Moses is denied entry to the promised land when he strikes the rock twice, Christ is sacrificed once and for all.
Jonah — Three days and nights in the fish; just as Jesus spends three days and nights in the heart of the earth. A direct type of the death, burial and resurrection of Christ (Matthew 12:40).
The Brazen Serpent — Lifted up on a pole; whoever looks lives. Jesus directly applies this to Himself (Numbers 21:4-9; John 3:14-15).
The Tabernacle / Temple / Veil — God dwelling with His people; the veil torn at Christ’s death (Hebrews 9–10; John 2:19-21; Matthew 27:51). Christ is the true Temple.
The Sacrificial System and Day of Atonement (Leviticus 16) — Spotless lambs, the slain goat and the scapegoat bearing sins away. All point to Christ’s once for all sacrifice (Hebrews 9–10).
John 5:46
“For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me.”
The Restoration of Israel
The Bible is filled with prophecies regarding the future of Israel and the Jewish people. The return of the Jews to their ancestral land and the reestablishment of their nation is nothing short of a miracle, yet all along the Bible said this would happen. Though Israel as a whole did not accept Jesus as their messiah God has a plan to restore them to faith and fulfill His promises to their forefathers. This is confirmed in both the new and old testaments. Romans chapter 11 is undeniably clear in this regards, if anyone is teaching about God’s will for Israel but does not cite this chapter they are ignorant at best.
God has not cast them away
1 “I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. 2 God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew.” - Romans 11:1-2
Prophecy: Temporary blindness, all Israel will be saved
25 “For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. 26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:” - Romans 11:25-26
The modern rebirth of Israel was prophesied throughout the Old Testament
“For I am with thee, saith the LORD, to save thee: though I make a full end of all nations whither I have scattered thee, yet will I not make a full end of thee: but I will correct thee in measure, and will not leave thee altogether unpunished.” - Jeremiah 30:11
“For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.” - Ezekiel 36:24
Israel will see Jesus at the end of the 7 year tribulation(7 year Antichrist peace deal)
“And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.” - Zechariah 12:10
A few more of many verses: Isa. 11:11-12; Jer. 30:3, 31:35-37; Amo. 9:14-15
More Fulfilled Prophecies
1. Babylon’s 70-Year Rule Over Judah and Its Subsequent Fall
Prophecy: Jeremiah 25:11-12 (KJV) — “And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years. And it shall come to pass, when seventy years are accomplished, that I will punish the king of Babylon…”
Overview & Fulfillment: Written ~626–586 BC. Babylon dominated Judah starting around 609–605 BC (after defeating Assyria), destroyed Jerusalem and the Temple in 586 BC, and the exile ended with release/return under Cyrus in 539–538 BC—roughly 70 years. Babylon itself was conquered by the Medo-Persians in 539 BC and never regained imperial power. Additional details: Isaiah 13:19 and 14:23 foretold permanent overthrow and reduction to swampland/ruins (fulfilled; the site became desolate with parts underwater in later centuries).
2. Cyrus Named as Babylon’s Conqueror (Over 150 Years in Advance)
Prophecy: Isaiah 45:1 (KJV) — “Thus saith the LORD to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut.”
Overview & Fulfillment: Isaiah wrote ~701–681 BC. Cyrus the Great (of Persia) conquered Babylon in 539 BC without a major battle. The city’s gates were opened (historically via diverting the Euphrates River), fulfilling the specific naming and method. Cyrus also allowed the Jewish exiles to return (Isaiah 44:28; 45:13).
3. The Destruction of Nineveh (Capital of Assyria)
Prophecies: Nahum 1:10, 3:15 (KJV) — Drunkenness in final hours, destruction by fire, flood (Nahum 2:6), and permanent desolation. Written ~614 BC.
Overview & Fulfillment: Nineveh fell in 612 BC to a coalition (Babylonians, Medes, Scythians). Historical accounts (e.g., Diodorus Siculus) note the defenders were drunk; archaeology shows ash layers from fire and evidence of flooding. It was never rebuilt as a major city.
4. Tyre’s Multi-Nation Attacks, Scraping Bare, and Causeway
Prophecies: Ezekiel 26:3-12 (KJV, esp. v. 3, 4, 12) — Attacked by “many nations” like waves; mainland destroyed by Nebuchadnezzar; stones, timber, and rubble cast into the sea; scraped bare like a rock. Written ~587–586 BC.
Overview & Fulfillment: Nebuchadnezzar besieged mainland Tyre ~573 BC. Alexander the Great (332 BC) built a causeway using the old city’s rubble (stones/timber/soil) to reach the island fortress, literally scraping the site. Later invasions (Romans, Muslims, Crusaders) completed the destruction. The ancient island city was never rebuilt in the same way.
5. Edom’s Humbling and Judgment by Israel
Prophecies: Ezekiel 25:14 and Jeremiah 49:16 (KJV) — Vengeance by Israel’s hand; prideful mountain strongholds brought down. Written during the Babylonian exile.
Overview & Fulfillment: Edom (descendants of Esau) had longstanding hostility toward Israel. Centuries later (~100 BC), during the Hasmonean period, John Hyrcanus I conquered and subjugated the Edomites. Their strongholds were toppled.
6. Succession of World Empires (Daniel’s Vision)
Prophecy: Daniel 2:31-45 (KJV) — The statue dream: head of gold (Babylon), silver (Medo-Persia), bronze (Greece), iron/clay (Rome), followed by God’s eternal kingdom.
Overview & Fulfillment: Interpreted by Daniel during Babylonian captivity. The sequence matches historical empires precisely: Neo-Babylonian → Medo-Persian (Cyrus, 539 BC) → Greek (Alexander) → Roman. This was written well before later empires rose.
Other Notable Mentions
Egypt would never again rule over nations as a superpower (Ezekiel 29:15) — It declined after the Babylonian/Persian/Greek periods and never regained that status.
Philistia destroyed (Jeremiah 47; Zephaniah 2) — The Philistines faded as a distinct people after Babylonian invasions.
These prophecies are remarkable for their specificity, timing (often given when the opposite seemed likely), and historical confirmation. They bolster the Bible’s claim to divine inspiration through accurate foretelling of geopolitical events.
