Bible-believing students of the Bible are amazed at the constant pressure exerted by apostate Fundamentalists on Christians to stick to the “original Greek” and the “plenary, verbally inspired autographs.” This three-ring circus is a year-round, full-time business at Bob Jones, Tennessee Temple, Liberty Bible College, Midwestern, BIOLA, Pacific Coast, Denver, Springfield, Pillsbury, Maranatha and Piedmont.

Have you ever analyzed why this is? (Yes, we know the hackneyed cliches given out by the “good, godly, dedicated, reverent, qualified Conservatives” who stand “without apology for Little Miss Muffet and Pacman,” but what is the real reason?)

Why all of this preoccupation with some papers that don’t exist, bearing letters that no one has ever seen, in a “Book” that never existed one time on this earth?

(Talk about left-wing radical fanaticism, how about THAT!?)

Well there is method in the madness. The reason why Satan desires to get young ministers hung up on “plenary, verbally inspired originals in Greek” is so he can destroy their love for the truth. We will illustrate: God forbid we should say something without documenting it to the last hairline.

To begin with, let us look at a typical Laodicean sucker—in this case a young ministerial student between the ages of 18 and 28. After one year in the World’s Most Unusual University he is convinced that the truth lies only in the GREEK “original” (or the “original Greek text” or the “Greek text”: the professional liars have a number of ways of identifying what they’ve never seen a day in their life). Now the professor has the young sucker hooked. He is prepared to follow GREEK SCHOLARSHIP instead of the Holy Spirit in his Bible studies. He has exchanged the Author of Truth (John 14:6) who guides and leads into ALL truth (John 16:13) for a hireling who is confident he is called to correct God Almighty. Naturally, this professional liar is a Fundamentalist and naturally he believes in the “verbal plenary inspiration” of O. J. Simpson and Tony Dorsett.

Having subverted the young man to a position where he has traded in his birthright for a mess of pottage, the Fundamentalist professor now proceeds to do the following things—with the young man following him devotedly all the way!

1.  He alters the authorized text of the Authorized Version even where their own Greek editions support it (Gal. 1:4, Phil. 2:6; 2:15, Col. 1:16). 

2.  He throws out the “oldest and best manuscripts” where they support the AV text (Gal. 1:4; 4:14, 2 Cor. 12:15, John 8:28, 1 Thess. 1:8, Rom. 5:1, Acts 4:37, Matt. 8:10). 

3.  He gives a false rendition of the “oldest and best manuscripts” while criticizing the AV for doing the same (Gal. 1:15, Luke 2:5; 5:12, John 3:22, Acts 5:20; 8:1, Luke 1:18, 25, Phil. 2:6). 

4.  He proceeds to translate the same Greek word a different way after complaining about the “lack of uniformity” in the Holy Bible (Gal. 3:7; 1:11, 12, Col. 1:16). 

5.  He invents, on occasion, a word found in no Greek manuscripts (Gal. 1:4, Luke 1:25, Mark 1:20, 2 Cor. 2:17, Phil. 2:7, Titus 1:1, 1 Tim. 3:15; 4:2, Rom. 1:2, Luke 16:22). 

6.  He refuses to translate Greek verb and participle tenses uniformly after complaining about these matters in the Holy Bible (2 Cor. 8:15; 7:11, Matt. 16:19, 1 Thess. 1:10; 2:3, 5, Matt. 3:1, Acts 10:11, 18; 7:51, 53, 55). 

7.  He will often lie about the meaning of a Greek word trusting that the young man will not pick up a lexicon to check on him (Gal. 5:4, 5; 5:24, 25, Acts 2:38; 17:22, Col. 1:16, Matt. 16:16). 

8.  He will claim to know what “the original” says when he has never seen it a day in his life (see any pamphlet published by Spiros Zodhiates between 1958-1968).

9.  He will refuse to give the young man the English Biblical reference which explains the verse in his own language (Gal. 2:20; 3:8; 3:11; 4:8, 9, 10; 5:21, Matt. 24:13, 1 Peter 3:2, Eph. 3:18). 

10.  Where “uniformity” will back up the Deity of Christ it is often dropped and another word is substituted which will obscure the Deity of Christ (Acts 4:27, 31, Luke 2:33; 23:42).

Now this is what the young ministerial student left himself open for when he believed the lying punk to start with. There was a purpose in calling his attention to the “plenary, verbally inspired original autographs” that was not manifest ONE time in any profession of faith by ANY group of Fundamentalists assembled at ONE time anywhere to pass any “resolutions” on “historic positions.”

Now, what we are dealing with here in actuality is Satan, dressed as a Bible-believing professor in a Fundamentalist school who talks about “soul winning,” separation and “militant Christianity.”

The young man has fallen down before a professional liar who was paid a salary to lie about the truth. Check the references. There is no doubt about the matters at all; they can be multiplied into the hundreds. The young man was sidetracked (off the “possum trail,” as Bob Jones, Sr., used to day) so that he would doubt the AV, lose his authority, blind his understanding, disable his perceptive powers, lose his interest in the AV, and eventually—if he loyally followed his school to the fullest—would wind up exactly like his professors: A NATURAL BORN LIAR.

This is what has been going on in “Fundamentalism” since 1901.

The reason these agents of Satan (all of them are saved and believe in the “fundamentals of the faith”) want you to abandon the AV 1611 Holy Bible for the unreadable, unknowable, nonexistent “original autographs” is so they can move you from an ENGLISH POSITION TO A GREEK POSITION. Once this move is made, the ten things just documented will be put on you just as fast as you can count. A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.

And this explains all of this apostate emphasis on “verbal, plenary inspired original autographs.” These liars want you to abandon your belief in the Book by which you were saved and called to preach. Wherever these professors may disagree with Satan, at least they are in agreement with him on that point. They want the final authority invested in THEMSELVES, pretending it is the “originals.” Since the originals are not there, there is only one authority left: THEMSELVES.

This is the guiding motive behind the modern Fundamentalists’ over emphasis on the “plenary, verbally inspired original autographs.”
