The Jesus’ Words Witnessing Plan
By YBible
One of the most powerful ways to witness is to have someone read Jesus’ words for themselves in the Bible. By using this plan you can introduce them to His words while leading them to salvation.
Here are the step by step instructions for the Jesus’ Words Witnessing Plan.
You will read to them all the text bellow that starts with “Say”. Minus the word say.
The opening question:
Say: Have you ever read Jesus words for yourself?
(They respond.)
Say: You shouldn’t trust what most people say about Him, everyone needs to read His words at least once in their lives.
(They respond.)
Say: I can quickly share some of His verses with you from the Bible.
(They respond.)
Say: In John 8:31-32 Jesus promises freedom through His words.
“Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
Say: Matthew Chapter 5 is the beginning of Jesus’ renown sermon on the mount. Here are the first 8 verses.
1 And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:
2 And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,
3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
Say: God cares for the poor in spirit, those that mourn, the meek, merciful and pure in heart. Do you think you or I are like this?
(They respond.)
Say: Matthew 6:33 Jesus says always seek God first.
“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
Say: Mark 8:36 is what He said about fame and popularity. This is where the phrase “selling your soul” came from.
“For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?”
Say: In Matthew 7:15 Jesus warns about false teachers.
“Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Say: Jesus also said many Christians are fake, they use His name but don’t actually obey Him and turn from their sins to God.
“Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” - Matthew 7:22-23
Say: In Matthew 7:13-14 He said the majority of people are always lost, and only a few will be saved.
“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”
Say: Are you on the wide path or the narrow path?
(They respond.)
Say: I believe the wide path is people who are trying to save themselves and think they are good, instead of trusting God. The world’s religions also teach their own systems will save you but they don’t follow Jesus alone.
Say: John 3:16 is the summary of the Bible, the purpose of Jesus’ life was to save us from our sins, He is the narrow path.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Say: Have you believed in Him?
(They respond.)
Optional: You can briefly share your testimony of salvation at this time.
Say: These next verses aren’t Jesus speaking, they are after what we read before. Romans 10:9 and 13 shows us how to believe on Jesus for eternal life.
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
Say: And verse 13 Is a promise by God that anyone, anywhere can be saved.
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Say: Are you willing to be saved right now?
(They respond.)
If they are ready, lead them in a salvation prayer. Before you lead them in prayer explain that just repeating these words doesn’t save them, it must be a genuine faith from their heart.
Say: I will lead you in prayer, but it’s not saying these words that saves you, it’s believing on Jesus Christ from your heart.
Say: Repeat after me. Dear God I admit I have sinned against you and deserve your judgment (They repeat). I don’t want to sin against you ever again (They repeat). I believe Jesus died for my sins and I believe He also rose again (They repeat). I trust in Jesus alone to save me (They repeat).
Say: If you sincerely meant that prayer God has forgiven you and saved you. When God looks at you now He sees the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
Say: The next most important thing to do is to read Jesus’ words for yourself in the Bible. Get your Bible or download a Bible app on your phone and read either the first book of the New Testament Matthew or the fourth book John is a good place to start also.
Say: Can I share one last verse from Jesus with you?
(They respond.)
Say: In Matthew 7:7-8, He promises to guide those who seek Him.
“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.”
