The Good Test is a powerful way to prove to anyone that they have sinned before God and are in need of the Savoir. The Law is the schoolmaster that leads to Christ (Galatians 3:24). Jesus used this approach with the rich young ruler (Mark 10).

Here is the step by step guide for using the Good Test.

The first question to ask somebody:

Almost everyone says yes. If they say no, still just ask the next question.

The next question:

Walk them through a few of them:

• “Have you ever told a lie?” → “What do you call someone who tells lies?” → “A liar.”

• “Have you ever stolen anything, even something small?” → “What does that make you?” → “A thief.”

• “Have you used God’s name as a cuss word?” → “That’s blasphemy.”

• “Have you ever looked with lust?” Jesus said whosoever lusts is a “Adulterer at heart.” (Matthew 5:28)

Say this conclusion of the Ten Commandments, or skip to the next question: "By your own admission you’re a lying, thieving, blaspheming, adulterer at heart. If God judged you by that standard on Judgment Day, would you be innocent or guilty?”

Optional illustration: Think about it this way, if a judge let a murder go free the judge would be guilty. God is perfect, holy and sinless. He must judge us for our sins.

The Bible says: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” - John 3:16

And it also says: “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” - Romans 10:13

Then ask:

If they are ready, lead them in a salvation prayer. Before you lead them in prayer explain that just repeating these words doesn’t save them, it must be a genuine faith from their heart.
