All Christians are Saints according to the Bible.

  • “For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.” - 1 Corinthians 14:33

  • “Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?” - 1 Corinthians 6:2

  • “And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.” - Romans 8:27

  • “For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:” - Ephesians 4:12

Catholics pray to dead saints.

Should we pray to dead saints, Mary or anyone else besides God ()?

Is there a command to do this or an example of this practice in the Bible? The Bible is surprisingly detailed on how we are to interact with God, what we should and shouldn’t do. Why would a Catholic add to God’s word and do what He hasn’t commanded? Which authority is greater the Bible or the Papacy?

We have one intercessor.

For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. - 1 Timothy 2:5

Christ intercedes for us.

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. - Hebrews 4:16

Believers are told to come directly to the throne.

Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. - Hebrews 7:25

Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens. - Hebrews 8:1

Access is “unto God by him” (Christ). He lives to intercede.

Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus … Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith… - Hebrews 10:19–22

For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. - Ephesians 2:18

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. - John 14:6
