What is Heaven like?

Answer: Beyond imagination.

But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. - 1 Corinthians 2:9


Will there be death or sorrow in Heaven?

Answer:

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. - Revelation 21:4


Will there be sin or evil in Heaven?

Answer:

Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. - 2 Peter 3:13
And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life. - Revelation 21:27


Are there many paths to Heaven?

Answer: Narrow is the pathway to life and few find it.

13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. - Matthew 7:13-14


Jesus is the only way.

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. - John 14:6


One mediator to God.

For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; - 1 Timothy 2:5


One name.

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. - Acts 4:12


Turn from your own ways.

There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. - Proverbs 16:25


Will we have new bodies in Heaven?

Answer:

Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself. - Philippians 3:21
For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. - 1 Corinthians 15:53

What will our glorified bodies be like?

Answer: “Our body will be fashioned like His (Jesus) glorious body.” - Phil. 3:21


Jesus’ resurrected body was physical yet supernatural:

Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have. - Luke 24:39


He ate and drank, and promised we would do so with Him someday:

…even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead. - Acts 10:41
And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb. And he took it, and did eat before them. - Luke 24:42–43
That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel. - Luke 22:30


A glorified body can eat, but probably not in order to stay alive. Revelation 7:16 says the redeemed ... “shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more”



Jesus passed through closed doors and vanished out of their sight:

And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you. - John 20:26
And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight. - Luke 24:31


We won’t be bound by gravity. At the end of the tribulation the saints will follow Jesus on horseback from Heaven.

And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. - Revelation 19:11
And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. - Revelation 19:14


Do people get married in Heaven?

Answer: Not at first, possibly once God creates the new heavens and earth.

For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven. - Matthew 22:30


Will there be a new universe and will we remember the old one?

Answer:

For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. - Isaiah 65:17
…Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. - 2 Peter 3:11-13
Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath: for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner: but my salvation shall be for ever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished. - Isaiah 51:6


Will there be deterioration or aging in Heaven?

Answer:

Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. - Matthew 6:19-21


What else will be in Heaven?

Answer:

But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect.- Hebrews 12:22-23


Will we recognize loved ones in Heaven?

Answer:


  • Peter recognized Elias and Moses at the transfiguration (Matthew 17:4).

  • The rich man saw Abraham and Lazarus after death and spoke to them by name (Luke 16:23–24).



Are Heaven and Hell the only destinations?

Answer: Only two options …

And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. - Daniel 12:2
And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal. - Matthew 25:46
He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. - John 3:36
Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. - John 5:28-29
Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; - 2 Thessalonians 1:9
And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. - Revelation 20:15


How do you go to Heaven when you die?

Answer:


Turn to God from your sins.

Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. - Isaiah 1:18


Believe on Jesus Christ:

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. - John 5:24 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. - Acts 16:31


Repent to God and have faith in Jesus Christ:

Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ. - Acts 20:21


Call upon Him:

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. - Romans 10:13


Whosoever will freely receive eternal life:

And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. - Revelation 22:17
